From the publisher
Following in the bestselling footsteps of Little Red Book of Selling, Little Red Book of Sales Answers, Little Black Book of Connections, and The Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude, Jeffrey Gitomer's The Little Green Book of Getting Your Way digs deep into the 9.5 elements that make persuasion, and getting your way, happen. By breaking down the elements, the reader will begin to understand, take action, become proficient, and then master the ability to persuade. Because persuasion occurs in so many different areas of life and business, Gitomer leads the reader from mental readiness to the principles of getting your way and the power that persuasion offers. He challenges the reader to prepare before they present, to prepare before they try to persuade. He demonstrates how to change a presentation into a performance and shows how this can be done in any environment. But because persuasion most often takes place in business, he draws special emphasis to the reader's ability to write and sell persuasively. The book talks about the persistence that enables winning persuasion. He brings the Benjamin Franklin quote "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" to the Gitomer level of "You only fail when you decide to quit," and the book ends challenging the reader how to think about excellence and eloquence. It will be up to the reader to take advantage of the opportunity and harness the power.

Gitomer is masterful at demonstrating fresh ways to look at the same basic ideas on how to sell, persuade and influence. His Red Books are his best works and should be the foundation of any sales library. The Gold Book is another must buy. The Green Book (and Black, too) are good books to read and have many important concepts that require mastery, but the subject is spread a little thin at times. This book, in particular, could have easily been another two or three chapters in the Little Red Book of Selling.
Still, I enjoyed the read. I think that Gitomer is the man and I will continue to purchase everything that he writes. For those of you who may have an opportunity to see him live, do it. You won't be disappointed. |

Jeffrey's books are terrific, and this one is no different. By focusing on key elements of personal persuasion and influence, and how to get your way with others, he's expanded his topics of influence from his other must-get "little red books" of salesmanship and more.
Highly recommended - all of Jeffrey's books are easy-to-read, they reveal what's really important in personal and professional persuasion, and he's my favorite sales trainer in the world - his tactics, and encouragement in his videos (all recommended!) are must-have resources for all sales professionals and anyone in business.
One more point: in this book, Jeffrey provides a wealth of tips for effectively persuading others that can be applied in personal as well as business situations, so it's a much wider focus than "sales only", and is therefore perfect for everyone who seeks to understand, engage, persuade and gain effective results when communicating with others, in all venues.
Terrific job, Jeffrey - you've hit another home run with "Getting Your Way!" Everyone should buy this book (and everything by Gitomer - he's an ace. He's "the" world class expert on sales success and effective persuasion).
Thanks again Gitomer - you rock! |

For what it is worth I am an investment sales consultant and I study Persuasion and Influence 10 hours a week at Harvard University and I think Gitomer's ideas and tips in this book are great. Buy this book. Buy all of his books.
I wrote my first book last year and I am currently working on a new book to be published next year. Why? Jeffrey Gitomer. He is inspirational, experienced, and a role model for millions. I would write Gitomer a check for $1,000 before I wrote one to the University where I earned my first degree. |
