We bought our first Pat the Bunny book when our oldest child was 6 months old. That was nineteen years ago. Over the years we have purchased multiple copies of this wonderful book....reading and sharing it with our children, over and over until the pages became loose at the binding, poor pat's fur rubbed ratty and daddy's beard smooth. Then we knew it was time for a new copy.

This is not a book you purchase and then place on your child's shelf to be enjoyed alone. There are mountains of hard board books for that purpose. This is an interactive book to be read and shared by parent and child. IF what you are searching for is a book to keep your child quiet....pass Pat the Bunny by. If you are looking for a book to be read with your child on your lap. That will bring smiles, giggles, and fond memories for years to come; this is the book for you.

Our older children now read the book to our year and a half old twin daughters. This is a classic to be loved.

I have 2 daughters - one age 23 who just gave birth to a baby girl, Emma Jill, last week; and another daughter, age 18, who is living in Heaven following a car accident on August 2, 2002. 23 years ago, I purchased Pat the Bunny (Touch and Feel Book) for my first daughter, Jennifer. Around the time she was 6-10 months old, she already knew what Pat the Bunny was. Every single day, she insisted that we share Pat the Bunny together! She loved the book and it calmed her in a way that no other books or toys did. When my second daughter, Jill, came along, she was the same way; however, she had even stronger feelings about Pat the Bunny. She even slept with it! I believe Pat the Bunny is an excellent book for children beginning at about 6 months old. Today, my little granddaughter will receive her first package in the mail - Pat the Bunny! I hope she receives the same enjoyment as her mother and aunt did and I am very sure she will! Thank you to Dorothy Kunhardt for creating a book that is so touching for all children.

This is a delightful story about two children, Paul and Judy. This story tells of the many things that children can do. It allows children to experience all their senses. This is definitely a good book for early childhood.

This book tells what Paul and Judy can do and then invites the children to try it as well. It involves most of their senses from smelling flowers to putting their finger through mother's ring. Children love this book because it allows them to be active participants instead of passive listeners.

The clear, uncluttered background makes it easy for children to understand the main action going on in the page. There are different textures used from a soft bunny to daddy's scratchy beard. The softer pastel colors really let the activities shine.
The book is one of my favorites. I even went and bought one of my own and a video that goes along with it. I read it to all my family and friends all the time.

This book is meant for early childhood, but I think it could be very helpful in teaching young special education students as well.

My son got this book when he was 2 or 3 months old. We would read it to him occasionally as he was getting older. When he got to be about 6 months, he could do most of the things in the book (play peek-a-boo with Paul, pat the bunny, etc.). Now that he is a year, he does everything - he waves to Paul & Judy, he puts his finger in the ring, smells the flowers, etc. He loves this book so much, the cover has come off and we have to purchase another.

The great thing about this book is that there is something fun for them to do on every page, and it grows with your child. The only drawback I found is that it's not super-durable if your child really loves it and reads it over and over and over and over.

My daughter loved this book. It was literally hours of fun when she was an infant (parent and baby together and baby by herself). I like to give this book as an extra shower gift and have yet to be disappointed at the response by a new baby. The senses are involved which makes the reading experience fun - feel, smell. Different textures are introduced - Daddy's scratchy face, the soft bunny. The book closes with Paul and Judy waving goodbye and the book asking the baby if she can wave bye-bye. I can't tell you how cute it is when your baby starts enthusiastically screaming bye-bye to the characters in her favorite book.
