My first exposure to Optimal Thinking was at a National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) event where Dr. Glickman was the keynote speaker. At the time I was going through my second divorce and I was struggling to keep my life and business together. I felt exhilarated by her presentation of Optimal Thinking and enrolled in her coaching program. This was the best choice I have ever made. Dr. Glickman empowered me to overcome patterns of self-sabotage (compulsive spending and attaching myself to verbally abusive people) I had worried about for many years. She showed me how to let go of concerns that were out of my control and how to immediately focus my attention on optimizing what is in my control. She gave me roadmaps to become emotionally self-reliant and taught me how to bring my best self to every situation and bring out the best in others. After 10 weeks of coaching and equipped with Optimal Thinking, I was full of energy and had a realistic optimal plan for success. Optimal Thinking really turned my life around. I have achieved more than I thought was even possible, and I love life and make the most of every day. You will find a lot of the information I obtained from Dr. Glickman in this superb book. |

This is a refreshing look at thinking as it relates to self-improvement. Discusses the benefits and drawbacks of different types of thinking, including positive and negative and mediocre, and then explains Optimal Thinking. Explains the important distinction between what is meant by optimal thinking versus blind optimism. Optimal thinking allows for realistic assessment of reality while making things the best they can be. Applications are broad, including designing and planning for the optimal life, self-esteem, purpose, feelings, communication, and other good things. Makes useful distinctions between left and right brain strengths and how to make optimal use of each. Overall a very excellent book that brings a fresh look at a potentially stale topic: thinking. This book makes a great compliment to Optimal Thinking: How to Enjoy the Best Life Has to Offer. Both are HIGHLY recommend and can make a huge difference in your life. |
