Every woman has a responsibility to educate herself and her daughters in money management, financial responsibility, and financial investment. When I was growing up this was a "man's business" and no one talked to girls about finance. We do ourselves and our daughters a disservice.
Ms. Orman's newest book takes her wisdom and proven advice and applies it to a gender desperately in need of it. A valuable reference for those who want to know more about money matters and how to teach it to our children. As usual, Suze knows best! Use this book to build a better future for yourself, and to plan ahead for your children!

I really like Suze's show and think she offers great common-sense advice that some of us just don't think of. In this book, I think it's good that she addresses the issues that women have with finance because a lot of women find it difficult to really get excited about saving, investing, and otherwise being good with money- most of us would rather shop than look into retirement planning. This book is a great survey of our innate tendencies (similar to a really funny book I just read- "How to Take Advantage of the people Who are Trying to Take Advantage of You" by Morse- like how we jump at a sale sign, even though the price may not be any better) and how to overcome them to become successful financially. A lot of the advice is redundant (from her "9 Steps" book too), but it's all really good advice and it makes sense to target women.
Also, I'd like to add that I enjoyed reading her history about her rise through the financial planning world and Merrill Lynch. I could definitely relate to her story and experiences. The bit about women wanting her to "baby sit their money." It's unfortunately true. |

This book is excellent. I have known many woman, whose husban divorced them after some 20 years of marriage and they had no idea how to handle money. So what if she doesnt marry or have kids. Her job is to give fincial advice. Why should it be anybody elses business what stocks she invests in? Read the book before judging. I think that every woman should read this book. |

Finally a financial "magician" without the smoke and mirrors! The is a must read for any woman interested in financial freedom and independence. I thought I was investment savvy until I read this book and realized how many simple, common-sense mistakes I have made with my very hard earned money. Ms. Orman has opened my eyes. Thank you so much! |

I found this book very inspirational.
Many of us know what to do about our financial situation but as Suze points out, we simply don't do it. It can be overwhelming to tackle and there is always something else more "urgent" to deal with. After reading the book, I feel inspired to finally take action on many of the things I have been putting off for years. Suze makes it easy by breaking it down in a step by step plan!
I also absolutely love the TD Ameritrade offer! |

In addition to smart, sound financial advice, there is a common thread in all of Suze's books. We must be in right relationship with ourselves and with money! She understands that it's not enough to be given tools, you must be shown how to use them, and most importantly you must believe you are worthy enough to use them for yourself. What a powerful message for us all, but particularly for women, who are taught to save everyone around them before they save themselves. Suze's "Save Yourself Plan" can truly revolutionize the world of women and money! Let's just be grateful that someone is using their voice to encourage saving, particularly at a time when our national and individual debts are at an all time high and we can't count on social security. She is a role model who should be paid attention to by our government, corporations, lenders and credit card companies. I recently heard Suze speak to a group of people and one thing is for sure, she fills the room with great energy. Everywhere she goes, people love her, they love her guidance, her honesty and her light! |

All Suze's books are great, but this is my favorite one ever! I love the way she incorporates her financial advice into an overall value system for my actual life, not just my bank account. Talk about girl power? How great (and smart) are her "8 qualities of a wealthy woman"? OK, so I still have lots of credit card debt. So what. I'm not on sale anymore... Take that, Amex & Visa. You too, Bloomingdales.
I know, I know, Suze can be a little scoldy. But this book is different.
It's a great book, ladies. Highly recommended for any girl of any age who wants to change her financial future for the better. (except you, mom - check your mail for a copy & let's try Suze's 'one day a month' together!) Thanks to Suze I feel like I really DO have the power to control my own destiny! |

Every woman should read this book, no matter how safe she feels financially. Knowledge is power. Power is strength and safety. How can it hurt to know exactly what's going on in your economic world and why? It can certainly hurt to remain in ignorance. Single or married, women should know what's going on, and this book is a nice, basic, encouraging place to start. |

As with all of Suze's books and products, this is an excellent resource for all women who are struggling with their finances. If ignoring the problem would make it go away, I'd be rich!! But the truth is you have to work to gain control and change life long patterns of spending. This book gives you a plan of action that makes sense, is sequential and easy to follow. |

Suze has written a great book for women. I think that all women should read this. It's scary to think that there are so many women who depend on their husbands to sort out the family finances, to make decisions on where to invest their money, etc. Suze wants to make women understand that the financial responsibility shouldn't just be the man's - even if the woman is not working outside the home, and is "just" a homemaker, she should be actively involved in her finances.
Lots of commonsense advice, and some other things that you just wouldn't have known. One big plus, this book contains a code for you to use at TD Ameritrade. If you just deposit a minimum of $50 a month with TD Ameritrade for 12 consecutive months, you will receive a $100 bonus after the 12 months!! That alone will cover your cost of purchasing this book, and you will still have 75% of the money left over to save! Thanks Suze! |
