Haven't you noticed how people confuse the gift with the box, the spirit of a person with the body in which it is housed? Morrie explains that to us in terms we can understand. He points us in the direction of the Truth and lets us see the other stuff as perpetual worldly misunderstanding. He knew his body and ours to be a simple teaching aid to be laid by when physical life is over, and he communicated in a very loving way that the part of Morrie that was of real value was never in any danger. What is One with all there is can never perish, and sweet, caring Morrie gave us all a glimpse of that most important lesson. I am most thankful for Morrie and his teachings, and for Mitch Albom for writing them down for us.

I finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie just in time to see the TV movie. I found the movie to be mildly entertaining, but the book is a treasure. Mitch Albom does a great job of capturing Morrie's wisdom and perspective. In this day and age, most of us get too wrapped up in our own lives, worries, and problems, and forget to step back and see the big picture. This book helped me see important issues in a different light. I would recommend this quick read to anyone.
